The studio lost the rights for Left 4 Dead series to Valve. Turtle Rock Studios is famous for their post-apocalyptic first person shooting game, Left 4 Dead. Since it'll be part fantasy, expect creatures from the fantasy genre to appear as enemies or friends. Players can expect lots of things to shoot at but not necessarily 'zombies' since the game will push through with a dark fantasy theme. 'And while we focus on awesome first-person shooting and co-op, we'd rather have the new game be something our players classify and designate and judge without us affixing the label ourselves,' said Goldstein. Steve Goldstein, the President and GM of Turtle Rock said that the studio would not call their new game as a successor. No further details were said about what kind of game will it be, except that the game takes on a 'dark fantasy theme.' According to an interview with, Phil Robb, co-founder of Turtle Rock Studios hinted that the game the studio is currently working on would be another co-op first-person shooting game. Turtle Rock Studios, the developers behind the popular zombie shooting game, Left 4 Dead, informed that they are currently working on a new original IP triple-A game. The upcoming game will be published by Perfect World Entertainment, known for Star Trek Online.
